Hello Electricpete
Thanks a lot for your informations.
Yes the generator is hydrogen cooled.
The generator manufacturer installed 12 PT100. 4 probes for each phase.
Hello
I have a PT100 probe in a generator stator (20kV). This probe have an insulation level (between probe and phase) lower than 200kOhms.
What can I do with such problem. Is there a possiblity that this probe create an stator insulation failure?
Does anyone have idea
Thanks
Hello
For a project, I need to calculate short-circuit current calculation following IEC60909 rules.
The question is:
The generator is rated 45MVA and I have the characteristics for 45MVA. The power plant where the generator will be used is dedicated to 42MVA (active power / power factor) and I...
Hello
I must define the permissible permanent current on a existing bus bars.
Do you know which formula must be apply to define this value when I get :
Voltage : HV 13kV
width : 50mm
Depth : 5mm.
Metal : Copper
The bus bar in inside a closed local.
I have the same problem with aluminium and U...
Hello
Thanks a lot for your answers. In order to clarify a little the purpose I'll give you some more explanation :
1) The transformer supplying the excitation is directly connected to the generator terminals
2) Concerning compounding, nothing is forseen in this way, probably due to the...
Hello
The short-circuit involved on this case is a three phases short-circuit. The transformer short-circuit voltage is 23%.
I don't know the inertia of the complete shaft (generator + gaz turbine + steam turbine). The inertia of the generator alone is around 0.85kWs/kVA. ( I think between 3 and...
Hello
I'm working on a power plant in France (around 500MVA). On this PP the generator is excited by a static excitation system and in the french rules it must be capable to whistand a short-circuit just after step-up transformer during 300ms without loss of synchronism.
Due to this excitation...
