hello.
A few years ago I had a computer program that did a great job on the design of rigid bus in substations.
The program was called Ridid Bus Design Tool and was created in Canada. I have been unable to locate the program again.
I have searched the internet extensively. Any help you might...
IMHO I think the real issue is you have been there 13 years, why worry, you seem to like the job and if they give you the option of stay or go home I would say just stay.
we have hired a contractor to perform the ground resistivity testing and they have provided us with the results. I am looking for a standard the I can site to get the rock itself tested.
after the rock results come in I can plug that into my CDEGS program and run the numbers.
thanks
Can anyone tell me about standard testing proceedures for the verification of the resistance of the rock(gravel) used in substatons for the high resistance layer in your grounding design?
thank you
open is an action done by a person. does not matter if the person is standing at the breaker, in the control building or in teh dispatch center.
trip is an action initiated by a relay for any reason, could be transfer trip, breaker failure trip, overcurrent trip, ect.
I have a situation in which there are pad mounted transformers.
These transformers have a high side disconnect switch internal to the transformer tank. These switches are designed for occasional switching. The problem is: in order to access the switch you must open the low side compartment...
you mentioned that the clearing time was 6 cycles. what was the inc energy at that clearing time? if it was above 40 its only going to get worse at 2 sec.
The reason why i was looking for the short-circuit withstand capability is that we have one of the buses in our system which comes pretty close to the designed electrical current rating, and I was not certain if the same rating is adequate given the present configuration.
Iin order to be...
yes they are abailable, I was in a substation which used some type of composite material not sure what it was tho.
kinda like a plastic/fiberglass mix. I do not know where they got them from. I know that did not help.
however you can just continue to use the metal ones by removing the standard...
