HI there,
A friend of mine claims that the new CATIA V6 only has rapid prototyping in the machining module. He says that the traditional 3,4 and 5 axis machining operations are no more. Is this true? If so, does Dassault plan on releasing a special machining module in the future?
thanks
John,
Thank you. I followed your instructions and everything worked perfectly. Would you know the name of the file I need to modify if I want to use the Die&Mold assembly manufacturing template as opposed to GENERAL?
Thanks again for your help.
Hi,
When I use NX6's manufacturing module with the Master model assembly method, which is basically to open my part then, go NEW>MANUFACTURING>GENERAL to create my NC setup, I get a charcoal-color background which I don't like. I like the original light grey background that comes standard in NX...
John,
yes, the collision occurred when it rotated 90 degrees. Would you mind clarifying what you mean by adding a GOTO move as a machine control operation?
XFV8,
Would you be kind enough to tell me how to do that in Postbuilder?
Thanks
John,
I tried what you suggested and it does rotate without having to insert the event manually. So thank you for that. However, I still have a collision between the tool and the IPW. Any ideas how to avoid collisions?
Thank you
HI,
I was looking for the best way to program toolpaths for a 4-axis horizontal mill with a B-axis rotary table in NX6. What I am trying to do is fairly basic: mill the first face with planar operations then rotate the table CCLW 90 degrees and proceed to milling the second face with planar...
I can't agree more with Potrero. I would trade small bugs for easy-of-use and functionality any day.
John, from your post, is it safe to assume that the most changes in manufacturing (CAM module) would take place in 7.5 as oppose to 7.0? If so, does Siemens have an idea of the release for 7.5...
Guys,
Thanks for all your responses.
It seems to me that because it does take so long to sink in, it should be taught in Universities during the course of our 4-year degree. So the first year, you would go over basic blueprint and some basic GD&T, and years 2,3 & 4 you would go more and more...
Hi guys,
I'm a little baffled as to why GD&T is not taught in schools and Universities in the US. I mean they talk about it for a little bit but they have no dedicated GD&T courses that run the whole semester. If GD&T is such a necessity (which I believe), why doesn't ASME step in and "force"...
Thanks John,
That's the great thing about NX... it seems IT DOES DO everything most other softwares do (and more), you just need to find the little tricks here and there to do it.
This will really help me understand assemblies. Now back to the tutorials!!! Thanks again.
John,
Thank you so much for your help on this assembly. I'll try to analyze what you did to understand better how assemblies work in NX. I wish the constraints were not bunched up together in the assembly navigator, it would be easier to understand which one goes with which component. For...
