Availibility of high strength 2-56 and 0-80 SHCS and FHCS

I have been using Copper State Bolt & Nut Co for small fasteners. Give them a call. or, http://www.copperstate.com/ Cheers

    Lyophilization (freeze drying)

I am interested in building my own freeze drier. I have a machine shop and a bunch of scrap thats just beckoning me to build somthing useless. I am all googled out, I havent found much in the way of "do-it-yourself" home made freeze drying instruction. The concept is fairly simple, but...

    Machining stellite #6

Another good source for practical information regarding machining stellite is Emerson valve formerly Fisher Rosemount valve in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. A large percentage of the sour service valve components and bodies are welded stainless and then stellite coated. They have a wealth of...

Thread roll machine for Base Jack tubes

The engine is a v8, driving a 2 inch diameter drive shaft that is coupled to the flywheel. There are two pillow block bearings along its path. Two separate sheaves: One with 4:1 ratio and one with 2:1. The acessories are turning faster than the driveshaft. Thanks for the help.

    Vibration transmissiblity through V-belts

I want to determine the critical frequencies of a driveshaft, to check the design for shortcomings with regards to shaft whir etc. I have several sheaves along the length of the driveshaft that are taking power ( more accurate torque) from the system. I want to simplify the problem and analyze...

    Die Repair/ACAD

Since you cannot afford a CMM Coordinate Measuring Machine, I suggest that you get your self a surface plate or reasonable facsimile. In pinch I have used a large faceplate from a lathe used as a semi precise surface plate. You should get yourself a vernier height gauge, and a digital...

    tank design

In order to make this decision, describe the structural shape of the enclosure. Depending on the ratio of surface area from the side to the bottom for example, you can determine if if the tank is supporting the most vulnerable members. Can you internally brace the large sides??? I have never...

    Fan Shaft Braking Device

There is something lost in interpretation. Can you attach a drawing please??? The problem otherwise doesn't sound too complex.

Repairs to electric motor shaft journals

If I interpreted this correct, you are grinding and re-chroming worn bearing surfaces. Does the chrome plating ever come back with damage form flaking. I know that this is a reason why some high performance engine techs stay away from chrome. Also, in other applications similiar to yours...

    load on end of bolt

For information regarding stresses created in bolts see the text"Machine Design" by Robert L. Norton. There are items listed that may taken for granted. ie. A bolts cross sectional area when sliced thru a thread is different than assuming a mean diameter of the pitch circle. Also...
