Hello everyone,
I'm sorry for doing this but I have a really novice question. I recently moved from a cooling only climate location to the US. Now I'm working with both cooling and heating systems. I have a doubt when calculating fan external static pressure for dual duct systems. Do I assume...
Sorry, NFPA 13. Chemicals are non hazardous, they are for cleaning purposes. The ceiling design is for an OH (.20 gpm/sq. ft., 1,500 sq. ft. fire area) facility with a 250 gpm hose allowance.
Greetings colleagues,
I have a room that will store chemicals in plastic bins in racks of two rows. The room has ceiling sprinkler but we will be installing in rack sprinklers in both rows. For the hydraulic calculation I'm considering 7 active sprinklers per level (14 total) plus a hose demand...
Thanks dbill,
The line is actually underground right now but the plant is relocating all underground utilities and piping them thru aerial routes since there have been leak issues before (it's a really old plant) and they are expanding and have encountered many utilities lines when digging that...
Greetings everyone,
I'm doing a risk assessment on a new LPG pipe. I've been looking at NFPA 58, the International Fuel Gas Code, and FM Global Datasheets and cannot find a required minimum clearance for above ground piping from equipment
that does not have an open flame. The new pipe is going...
Thanks to both. We use ICC codes at the moment, but when the hospital was designed UBC 1997 was the valid code. The 2009 IMC only mentions 30 cfm/person for ventilation rates but makes no reference to ACH. I can't seem to find a digital copy of the UBC online.
Greetings everyone,
I know that ASHRAE Standard 170 dictates the ventilation and combination ACH for different type of rooms in healthcare facilities. I was wondering is there a way to reduce the combination ACH if the ventilation ACH are increased? I mean, if the room requires 20 combination...
I read they are going to use those engines in generators to sell energy via a PPA since it would be cheaper to produce energy that way than with a regular generator or even buying it from the power company.
Greetings,
I run the energy programs for a company and recently one company came to us trying to sell us a "solar assisted" air conditioning system. http://www.solarcool.com/Products/Commercial.aspx
I know that Lennox has solar assisted A/C units but the solar panels are used for electricity...
Greetings everyone,
I am designing a pretty straightforward manual low expansion foam system for fuel storage tanks. According to calculations I need approximately 12,000 gal. of foam concentrate to comply with NFPA 11 requirements. The client is suggesting that the foam concentrate line runs...
Thanks everyone for your comments.
Pipesnpumps I will check out the book you're recommending. So basically, according to what you are explaining, there will be three classifications here, light hazard for the office area, class I commodity for the hazardous waste closet, and a class III...
