    Yes, weak axis bending. Its for a base/bearing plate. I'll try the bridge forum. Thanks.

    AISC - ASD 9th Ed. allows a stress increase for weak-axis bending in plates of 25% (or .75 Fy, Eq. F2-1). Is there a similar increase in the AASHTO code? This is regarding bending in a base/bearing plate. Thanks.
