    Heavy Timber Decking

I'm looking for allowable unit shear values (for diaphragms)for 3" and 4" tongue & groove decking supported on beams spaced at 6' o.c. There is no plywood topping. Any references would be helpful. Thanks

    Allowable Bending Stress in Plate

I agree. Hoping there was a code reference if a reviewer asks. Thanks.

    Steel Plate Bending Stress

Yes, weak axis bending. Its for a base/bearing plate. I'll try the bridge forum. Thanks.

    Allowable Bending Stress in Plate

AISC - ASD 9th Ed. allows a stress increase for weak-axis bending in plates of 25% (or .75 Fy, Eq. F2-1). Is there a similar increase in the AASHTO code? This is regarding bending in a base/bearing plate. Thanks.
