    Boil off gas compressor

zdas04 is absolutely correct. I was thinking that you would need a dry screw. Not sure who you are considering, but http://kobelcocompressors.com//index.php/screw_compressor/ may be an option. Apparently they have experience with my initial concern of polymerization. Interested in reading the...

    Boil off gas compressor

Experience with polymerization would be a question for the OEM.

Washers per ASME PCC-1, Appendix M

I am not sure what code the piping is being construction to, but B31.3 defers to Section VIII div 2 requirements.

    plate valve failure

One of my clients has resorted to tack welding the nut to the stud on one suction valve in their facility. It is in a high speed compressor and the valve is in a nominal 1000 psig service. It solved the problem. They had experienced a few failures a year prior to resorting to tack welding...

Nozzle Pipe Schedule & Flange Type

I would think FN may be a Weld Neck, then it would be appropriate to specify schedule.

Need suggestion for UNPAID OVERTIME (72 hours a week!)

I am not sure of the logistics, but can you get time off during the day? Like longer lunches of a couple of hours every few days. Perhaps they want all for be around for Start and Close of Business, that may be important for the culture.

    Plugged head opening

UG 43 g is for stud threads, UG43e is for threaded connections. Find the minimum thickness of your cap at the thread location and confirm minimum thread engagement.

    Nozzle load and Moments (API-676)

Can the CI pump take higher loads than published by the OEM? I imagine it can. Is the CI pump good for nominally 2.5 x Allowable Moment? Being CI I would be hesitant going that direction. It appears that API limits govern for forces and OEM limits govern moment for the design. Right? As far...

    Nozzle load and Moments (API-676)

How do the OEM allowable loads for the CI pump compare to API? Is a dimensionally equivalent pump available with a higher load capability? Just putting in expansion joints may not be a solution. They also need to be installed correctly, which may also require pipe/support alterations.

    General Electric Material Specification

The GE document does not state it is Controlled or Proprietary, without that it does not matter much what GE considers, unless the forum has a policy otherwise.

    Overtime

Professional does not equal salary, if it does I missed that when I read the rules for my licenses. If it does, I wish my employers good luck getting that OT money back from my wife.

    Telltale holes for pressure vessel

Truly unfortunate situation. My experience with AIs have been positive when problems arise. Most are helpful and can get you in the right direction. The seal welding of a reducer appears reasonable to me, but I have never seen it or aware of any Code Cases that address this issue. Perhaps...

Telecommuting...why is this so HARD TO FIND???

When/if the economy ever improves remote work may be a necessity, right now it is not. The employers have all the control. Nominally ten years ago I worked for a few years from the house. It worked well for the employer, but they also could not find the skill set readily available I had to...

    Telltale holes for pressure vessel

If your repad is not thick enough you will not get enough thread engagement to seal the threads.

Hydrotest or Pneumatic test of pipelines

My understanding this is very common is Siberia. I also understand that mishaps are not pretty. Be cognizant of how much energy you are storing. To me, that would be more important than N2 costs. I have been near 2 failures during a pneumatic testing, both a results from improper assembly...
