Good Morning Ryan,
Are you able to attach those images as i am currently having trouble reading the signal names. Do you have contactor feedback into the drive enable circuit?
Hi Ryan,
Do you have any field protection on the drive or have any data acquisition/monitoring for possible analysis?
Are you able to carry out some checks on the motor to eliminate any faults?
Good afternoon Ryan,
Do you happen to know the protection arrangement for the drive i.e. any bender/overcurrent devices that control the contactor (possibly DCCB)? What is the motor driving and what is the overload capacity of said motor?
On the second fault, was the motor changing direction...
Apologies for not replying sooner Gunnar and thank you for the reply.
The other two chain transfer drives use AC slip ring motors with associated gearboxes (5.5kw!!!), unfortunately there is very limited room and the gearbox approach was not a viable option. If this DC-AC conversion is...
Good Morning,
We are looking at a motor conversion on one of our chain transfers drives. The motor is directly coupled to the chain sprockets and is used to transfer 12T plates.
Current Setup:
1 * 60 HP DC series wound motor (220Vdc) @ 525RPM
Frame : MD106 (foot mounted)
Arm Current : 235...
What has the commutation been like on the motor prior to the 'fault'?
Has the motor been running hot?
Are you sure you don't have an earthed interpole?
Good afternoon elin,
Why was the brush grade changed from 283 to 571, has the maintenance regime altered to suit the possible change in brush wear?
What kind of application is the motor used?
Do you have any PCM (plant condition monitoring) on this motor?
Marechal also make connectors for the mining/shipping industry. Take a look at their website http://www.marechal.com (English or french). Although not sure if they do MV
jraef, see the attached pictures of our "incident" http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=98580920-3052-4d00-963d-97d584442526&file=MOV_Death_2.JPG
Hi jraef i recently come across MOV's on our syncdrive motor and it was literally blown to pieces...Primarily are plant is DC and we have had problems in certain areas with interface relays when the diodes have been used (Im guessing the diodes affect coil dropout)
I am looking for information regarding relay suppresion. I have read about various different types that can be used, I'm curious what situations you would use the different types in. For example MOV's, Snubbers, Diodes etc.... Also how do you size the suppression correctly? I seem to get...
