Hey!
Greetings!
I was going through catalogues of floating ball valve manufacturers and found a confusing thing that most of the manufacturers were offering floating 3-piece ball valve in smaller sizes (2" and less) in higher pressure class (800 and 900) but in bigger sizes (21/2", 3" and 4")...
Thanks for the input but is that exact depth 'h1' important in the actuator mounting flange?
I'm stuck with the designing of the actuator mounting flange because I can't see the importance of that exact depth.
Hope someone can clear this doubt.
Thanks!
Hey
Greetings!
I was studying ISO 5211:2001 "Industrial valves - Part-turn actuator attachment" standard and I am thinking how much importance dimension 'h1' holds in recent valve market?
Is it necessary to provide that much of depth on valve top mounting pad because most of the actuators I have...
So basically both valves can be said the best if they serve the purpose of leakage proof line and being smooth or tight while operation varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
P.S. @Danlap valve is soft seated one and not metal seated. Sorry not to mention that before.
Sorry for less information but yeah here the details of both the ball valves I have:
Floating type - 3 piece ball valve - class 800 - socket welded - DN 25 - Hand Lever operated - bi-directional - no lubrication
So your views remain the same?
Thanks!
hey
Greetings!
I am a bit confused here. I have bought 2 three-piece ball valves with same pressure class and same features but different manufacturers. One is smooth to operate while other requires more efforts to operate it in same line. Why is that happening?
Two reasons I can think of:

hey
I read this information on internet that when a valve is said fire safe it means the design is fire safe and it is not fire tested while if it is said by the manufacturer that valve is fire tested then only it has been 100% fire tested.
So my doubt is while the maunfacturer writes in catalog...
Hello
Can anyone suggest me any standards which are used in valve industry to do incoming material inspection for the ball valve bought outs?
For example, our bought outs include everything except valve body so we are confused which inspection standard we should choose in order to provide best...
Hey I got a question. I can't understand why my supplier is giving me a bit different bore when I ordered a full bore ball valve design?
I got a bore of 11.6 mm in a 1/4"(DN8) full bore ball valve, 12.5 mm in a 3/8"(DN10) full bore ball valve and 24 mm in a 1"(DN25) full bore ball valve.
And in...
Hey I went through the standard and I got confused if designer picks the method and takes a min. value for thickness then won't there be a problem for interchangeability of central core made by other manufacturers?
For example; If I want to change just the central core of my multi-piece ball...
