Any ideas on the following Screenshot?
The question is to stop the control valve at a postion so , the Piston stays at 0.8m where, 1m being the full stroke Length of the piston!http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=d98bc262-76b6-4689-8353-630417b3d278&file=Image_000_2011-11-19_16_58.jpg
I cant stabilize the directional valve to be open at a certain position and similarly I cant make the piston to be open at a particular position! I dont know what to do. Help any one?
Ok. I think I have managed to put the 2 Step sources correctly. But still the Piston opens completely. The reason is the directional valve opens completely. How to make it open just half way and it stays there....I have posted here since its a control problem. I see it as the Step Signal is...
Ok, this is what I did....When I use the second step as a +ve .8 value, the piston moves completely. But when I make it -ve 0.8 it just doesnt move....Screen shot belowhttp://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=7eb82ab9-93ec-47ef-a881-4ccce5bcaed2&file=Image_000_2011-11-19_04_45.jpg
I forgot to paste link to file.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=0408cbcf-dfb8-4a7c-b66d-14646961645f&file=Image_000_2011-11-18_07_49.jpg
What I am trying to do is in figure below, but then it still doesnt work. Is there a way to just completely shut off the Step Signal, once my piston reaches 0.8m.
Yes, Hopsan works like AMESIM....and downloaded by googling it, the first link is download for Hopsan.
The System overview is as in attachment. The idea is to stop the piston before it reaches end position. Using just a Step Signal, it completely closes the piston....

Well ok. Since people here have the idea about the system. The desired result is to stop the piston before it reaches end position in the software. This allows to reduce the high pressure buildup in the system as the piston is completely closed. Or in simple words, stop the piston after .8m, as...
I think the best way to deal with my problem is to use 1 step signal...
But What I need to achieve is for 10 secs i need Amplitude as 5 and then drop it down to 3. How do i achieve this?
