V/Na corrosion on ss 321 tubes

Hello...I have a furnace that heats a stream of hydrogen, h2s,and heavy naphta from 320 to 380 °C. The tubes are made of 321 SS. The furnace is prepared to burn fuel oil. However our fuel oil contains now 200 ppm of V and 90 ppm of Na (originally, when the furnace was designed didnt contain V or...

    catalytic reformer unit

You need to know two things: 1) The total amount of catalyst loaded in Kg 2) The accumulated feed to the plant. for example, if you have been treating 60 m3/h of heavy nafphta for one day, the accumulated feed would be 60m3/h x 24 h= 1440 m3 Then, the "life" of the catalyst is 1440 m3/Amount of...

    Alkylation acid header

Hi. I´m the process engineer of an Alkylation HF unit. As many units of this type, we have an acid header, that collects gas streams that may contain HF, and a regular Header. API recommends that a purge gas is provided to minimize stagnant pockets, and corrosive atmosphere in these headers...

    olefin in reforming product

Olefin content of the charge is 0, as it comes from an hydrotreating unit. There was no increase in reactor temperature when olefin content went up. We also noticed that in the same period, naphtenes conversion went down by 3%. I hope this helps to clear out my question.

    olefin in reforming product

Recently we noticed that our feed-effluent exchanger, prior to our reforming reactors, has a leak. We were told that in order to quantify this leak we could measure naphtenes in the products, as their conversion should be 100% at the severity we are operating. Product PIONA shows that naphtenes...

    Noise generation in vent

I am evaluating the convenience of opening the vent. The engineering department will not do the job, unless I guarantee that 85 dBA limit will not be surpassed.

    Noise generation in vent

Hello to everyone. For process reasons, we have decided to open a pipe to vent excess air to atmosphere. However, in order to do this, they have asked me to calculate the noise that would generate in such discharge. What would be the best way to calculate this? (in order to guarantee that the...

    Magnetically coupled agitator

Thank you very much MJCronin. I will request information from this company you mention. I am in Spain. I am mixing hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen, in methanol, with silica based catalyst. I wanted to know which is the maximum power/speed/dimensions of magnetic agitators. Nagara

    Magnetically coupled agitator

Dear all, we are looking for manufacturers of magnetically coupled agitors for three phase high pressure reactor. Can anybody help to find manufactures? Regards, N. Garabato
