almost off topic:
can anyone personally recommend some good reading/reference material for a fledgeling structural designer? maybe something like the 'machinery's handbook' of aircraft structure design? or just aircraft design in general?
i saw a few books that had titles resembling 'aircraft...
i think this is up to the designer, ive done it both ways, but i favor the 'multiple parts to the assembly[product]' method...it makes it a lot easier to detail out prints for the fabricator...and could make it easier to change any of the part requirements later down the road
good luck,

does anyone know if catia v5 has any type of probing package? either for NC machine probing or CMM probing? (such as pc-dmis)
another strange request,
thanks,
well, contracting may not be any different at all, but i envision a contractor's work-life a little less involved with whatever the managerial 'knee-jerk reaction of the quarter' may be...
if a contractor cant/doesnt do his job- he's run off, easy enough
if a contractor performs- he gets paid...
well i guess i'm new at all this, i've never really worked at a big company, only small shops...there are rumors circulating that in the very near future our managment will be totem poling everyone...
i read a bit about some of the bigger corps doing this, wasnt sure if anyone out there had any...
anyone know of any internet accessable project file databases to ease the conversion of v4->v5 drawing migration?
i work for a small fish, who gets their data from the big fishes, not always with the correct project file information...it would be really nice if we all could post our files out...
