    Hi, I have 2 questions concerning div 1 flanges. I don´t really understand that overbolting equation. Why is the overbolting only considered in the gasket seating condition, I understand that the bolt is tightend during the flange assembly, but during normal operation the bolt is still there...

    Thanks for the answer TGS4 Would it be unwise to use a screw with a smaller maximum allowable stress. If so the screw would require a smaller torque and I wouldn't have overbolting. May I ask if it's acceptable to use SA-307 to join flanges?
