Well upon closer inspection yesterday, it would appear that the competitor actually anodizes, rather than just alodines.
Soooooo.....I think that might have a little something to do with it. (gee, ya think?)
Thanks all......
Would anyone know if paint just inherently adheres better to 7075 than 6061?
We've been doing some in-house comparisons. We use 6061, and our competitor uses 7075. And their primer seems to stick better. We are alodining the parts.
But before I dig too deeply, I'm just wondering if it's due to...
Funny this thread appeared.
I'm an eng manager.....former CATIA v4 jockey (aerospace). I've got a decent amount of Solidworks under my belt as well. My gang now uses Solidworks. But I'm starting to wonder if we need to make the leap to CATIA.
It's easier to find aerospace talent when you use...
We've gotten some models from a supplier in CATIA v4 (CATPart)
There's an Open option for .CGR files in SWx, but that ain't cutting it.
(I'm asking on behalf of acowroker in another office 2000 miles away, so I'm shakey on the details)
Thanks.
So yeah....
Is anyone else running into issues? Our surfcam guy is not able to open our 2010 models. It opens 2009 sldprt files just fine.
Anyone have a good work-around? Surfcam is saying their patch is 2-3 months out?
Thx
Ahhhhh....on my new machine. Dell precision 4400....solidstate hard 8GB ram, HDMI port....quadro FX1700M
Anyway....thanks for the info
We have a couple of guys (still on 2009) where it gets all "blocky" when they rotate. They have drivers newer than recommended. they have FX 1700's too......I...
Another debate raging here at work....
The approved drivers on the SWx site. Are the SPECIFIC ones listed on the site the ONLY ones you should use
OR
The specific ones listed or NEWER?
There are some approved drivers, say for nVidia that are not the latest and greatest drivers from the...
Mouse gestures? Is that the little coloured circle (red/yellow?) that indicates whether the dim will go above or below?
My computer is currently being worked on (transferring from old laptop to new one, so i can't look it up myself. (currently on someone elses machine)
Is it fairly obvious how...
So only one of my guys is running 2010. He's a CSWP. Hates 2010.
He feels it's like the Vista of Solidworks. I've not worked with it myself yet. But apparently there are extra steps to do stuff....almost like an "are you sure you want to do this?"
He finds it very annoying. Then apparently it...
Well as an eng manager it is worth SOMETHING to me. I'm a former CATIA v4 jockey, convert to SWx. I do understand the value of 3D modeling.
I can't really assign a salary dollar figure to it. But as I skim through resumes, anyone with a CSWP would immediately make to the "keep" pile.
Not sure...
Just a general question.
We have what I think to be pretty sweet desktop machines to run Solidworks. 8GB RAM, nice graphics cards etc...on XP64.
While Solidworks does fine with it, Simulator is still pretty slow, crashes a lot, blue screens of death, and will display blocky graphics when...
Thanks corey. That add-on..(mostly) worked. The file is pretty massive. So I only got most of the file. It's missing some bits. I'll have a guy at work try it tomorrow on his 64 bit machine. My laptop is good, but it aint THAT good
(BTW, how do you change import options? I'm ot finding it)
