Spark plug wire inductive pickup for RPM
If anyone is interested, and if you can (or want) to access the igntion coil, the megasquirt tach circuit Megasquirt works very well. The following are captures with the circuit connected to the coil on my Honda VT500 Ascot motorcycle. The Ascot has electronic ignition. Scope In Scope Out- mike6348
