First of all, thank you very much for your inputs.
Kiribanda: The collector system is partly underground, partly overhead.
vic3fan: Basically this was the option I had in mind.

Hello,
I am working on a wind farm project and I would like to hear your comments about system grounding in wind farms.
Different from the typical, generators are 600V Delta, with 0.6/34.5kV step up transformers with grounded wye at the 600V side (requirement of the generator).
The main...
I am looking for short circuit rating of steel wires (1 second), 5/16, 3/8, 7/16 and 1/2 Grade 220 steel wires. I would appreciate any input.
Thanks in advance,
Waross is right but just another way of saying would be (assuming you are talink about distribution applications):
utility company would install capacitors for reactive power support to correct the undervoltage conditions at the end of the heavily loaded and/or long distribution lines.
Hi,
I am looking for a transformer remote monitoring system, which monitors H2 and CO gases, as well as humidity with communication via modem or GSM/GPRS.
I googled but not much success. Does anybody know a specific manufacturer who builds such products?

Saltan
I dont know what you are using as software, but try to check the var balance in the overall system after the solution (convergence).
You may want to check the line parameter as well. B may be very small or X may be very large (could have entered pu values instead of actual values, etc).
good luck
assuming rules of O/H line design somewhat applies to this case:
separation (m)= 1.2 + 0.0102 (kV1 + kV2 - 50)
where:
kV1: is line to ground potential of first system in kV,
kV2: is line to ground potential of second system in kV
the switch has to be rated for parallel operation-you need to talk to the switch manufacturer for confirmation.
what you refer is done especially in double busbar stations to switch the breaker from one bus to the other without interruption.
for a line, postive and negative sequence data should be same. similarly for any passive element like transformers.
could you pls advise what program you used to calculate the parameters?
correction:
in the above example, if the grid freq. increases, for the same power input to the turbine, electrical power output would decrease, not increase. similarly, for decreased grid frequency, the electrical power output would increase.
sorry for the confusion
it is actually more complicated than that. first of all there are two components of electrical output: active (MW) and reactive (MVAr). Active power output is equal to active power input from the turbine, proportional to the gas-regulated by governor. reactive component has got something to do...
dear all,
reading all these, I have to admit that I was a little bit lost. please correct me if there is anything wrong with the below:
-when somebody talks about "air insulated breaker", I understand 600V breakers. I have not heard of an air insulated breaker at 25-kV level. it is the...
Hello all,
If there is such a thing, can anybody give a manufacturer name for precast cable ductbanks (underground) for 15-kV cables?
Thanks in advance
