Don't shoot me for saying this but have you tried clamping the sheet? We have seen this improve the cut finish. It does sound like the bearings within the nut, are there any strange sounds from the axis when moving them at lower speeds, say 2000-2500mm/min?

For what purpose would you like to monitor axis movement time? Is it from a service point of view or a cost per job point of view? What software are you running on the machines? This info may help in terms of providing the best advice. :)
I would say the only way to take any readings from both machines is to take a signal from the shutter open circuit. To acutally define when the laser is cutting during its operation is difficult. When a laser cuts during cycle it normally keeps the shutter open and reduces the power to zero when...
Blue flame is actual known as plasma coupling. It is the point were the laser beam couples with the nitrogen gas and ionisation occurs ( stripping of elctrons)
Plasma produces a hotter area than laser which can be destructive or non destruction during laser cutting.

Is the Resonator a Type 7 or Type 8 panasonic.
Please be careful when setting up a Panasonic, early version the mirror verniers were connected to the HV!!
