    The gas only touches the inside surface of the mirrors inside the resonator, so if the spot is on the outside then it is due to outside dust.

    Actually the suggestion about whether you changed your laser gas bottle recently is a very good one. If you obtained a bottle with the incorrect mixture, you may not get much power at all out of the resonator. If you can change the to one from a new batch and cycle the machine on and off...

    You are past your scheduled maintenance period. The problem could be as simple as a bad or contaminated output coupler. I would recommend calling the Mazak Service Support staff (847-252-4600) and discuss problem further. We can have you do a few troubleshooting tests which will further help...

    This could be something in the resonator, or it could be as simple as having a cover not completely closed. Are you reading this power on the Command screen? Are you sure you are calling up full power?
