Strange Fittings on Siemens Turbine Control Oil

I finally found the answer. They are Dilo fittings. Thanks for all the suggestions. If you're curious the link to the catalogue is below. http://www.dilo.com/downloads/HD%20catalog.pdf

Strange Fittings on Siemens Turbine Control Oil

It's a Siemens turbine. It was installed in the early 90's.

Strange Fittings on Siemens Turbine Control Oil

These fittings do not have soft seats. They are metal to metal. I appreciate the tips though.

Strange Fittings on Siemens Turbine Control Oil

Siemens has not been helpful. We have made several inquiries regarding this issue and they have yet to respond to it. We are looking at making some changes to the control oil system and want to be able to make the changes with a quick turnaround. Cutting off and reusing the one side of the...

Strange Fittings on Siemens Turbine Control Oil

Here is a picture of the male side of the fitting.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=521af25b-a5e1-4eed-a4c6-e4a74079dc3f&file=Male_Side_of_Fitting_1.JPG

Strange Fittings on Siemens Turbine Control Oil

We have a Siemens steam turbine on our site. The control oil piping/tubing for the turbine has some strange tube fittings. They are not swagelok or anything else that we recognize. Does anyone else know what they are or where I can get more? See the attached closeup pictures

    Reducing Slip-On Flange

It sounds like you're building something similar to an injection quill. I would just look up a local supplier of injection quills. Tell them what you want and they will build it for you and get whatever registration is required in your local jurisdiction.

    pipe system pressure ratings

Usually one is referring to the maximum pressure the piping can handle and the other is referring to the maximum pressure the process is capable of creating. Obviously the max operating pressure should be less than the system design pressure (if 'system' is referring to the piping and not the...

What kind of pipe are used for H2S protection?

Every refinery I've worked at (3) uses regular carbon steel piping for H2S. However, it is usually stress relieved (PWHT) to prevent stress induced cracking/corrosion.

    Deluge for Cryogenic Pumps

I am a plant engineer and I have been asked to look at installing a deluge system on the flash drum pumps of our coldbox. The pumps operate at around -40 degrees. Every other major set of pumps in our plant was built with a deluge so I'm thinking there must be a good reason for not installing...

    oil drum pressure

I don't think you could ever get a reliable pressure rating. It depends on how the ends are attached and the quality control on those connections. I wouldn't advise it but if you decide to test it to see what pressure it can handle, make sure you use water. Air can be very dangerous.

Losing $$$$ due to iron scale, silt, & debris in cooling water lines

Much of the debris is wood, which likely comes from the cooling towers. We thought about putting in a filter but there are a couple of problems. The debris and such are only a real problem on start up after a shutdown. It is hard to justify the cost and maintenance on a filter that is only...

Losing $$$$ due to iron scale, silt, & debris in cooling water lines

I am working in an oil refinery and we have had major production losses due to reduced cooling in some shell and tube exchangers in one of our units. After the last utilites shutdown we noticed that we were not getting enough cooling out of 4 of our shell and tube exchangers. As a result we...

    Stub-In vs Weld-o-Let?

Reinforcement is often not required for pressure reasons. However, piping stress on you branch connection will often require reinforcement. I don't know if you done a stress analysis on this but it is always a good idea to reinforce at you branch connections.
