Active Low and Active High Signal?

Not really a question but I felt there's no other way to bring up a topic this topic. As we all know an active low signal means that something is asserted only when an incoming/outgoing signal is pulled low from a high value. The reverse is true for active high, it is only asserted when the...

    Utra Sonic Welding

LOL! Thanks for the warning Mike.

    Utra Sonic Welding

    Is doing this even possible?

    Thermoplastic Urethane thin film

patprimmer I respect yours and kenvlach's comments. Kenvlach can the roller as you mentioned have etches made into them so that I can roll over areas I don't want to have TPU'ed? For example could I etch a line in the roller and roller over something so I don't heat over the TPU covering that...

    Thermoplastic Urethane thin film

I can't use fabrics with PU already on it because for my apllication I want to hermitically seal objects within the thermoplastic. I'm sure companies wouldn't manufacture hand held sonic welders if you couldn't do this. If not thermsoplastic PU then some other kind of thermoplastic must be used...

    Utra Sonic Welding

Does anyone know what thermoplastics I should consider to weld onto fabrics using a hand held ultra sound welder at 20khz-40khz low amplitude? I've heard two different answers for polyuretahne film adn am unsure about this material. Thank you in advance.

    Thermoplastic Urethane thin film

I actually just referenced from somewhere that sing ultra sound to weld is pretty poor as you guy said, but RF might work for TPU sinec the heat generated is much greater. Problem with thatis I would still need a hand held version for the shop.

    Thermoplastic Urethane thin film

I figured I could use TPU and fine weld designs for my own pair of gloves or pairs pants. I thought companies that make sports gloves use TPU on the palm portion of the gloves enabling better gripping. It would be great if the thermoplastic was abrasion resistant. Any suggestions? Thank you...

    Fiber optic fasteners

Is there anything that can securely fasten .75mm (0.029 inch dia) Polymethyl Methacrylate polymer (PMMA) core fiber optics strands? I want to be able to place a fiber in and not have to worry about it falling out. It should have a good retention force (I think I used that term correctly)...

    Thermoplastic Urethane thin film

I'm electrical seeking advice about materials. I want to use an Ultra Sonic hand held welder to weld TPU on fabric. The welder I'm thinkng of purchasing is 500Watts and operates at 20khz. I'm not sure what types or grades TPU comes in I just know I need something thin and can be bonded with...

    Acronym for Resistor color code

    How do you read mAh?

Thank you all! I interpretted the units wrong. Makes sense now. It should be like when the electric comapny reads your meter in KW*hours. Which is how much power hourly is being delivered to your home. But because a rated for 500mA is not continous (by that I mean as the battery provides...

    How do you read mAh?

I know mAh stands for milliamps per hour but does that mean what the battery can deliver as the max for any time frame? In other words I'm powering a circiut that demands 500mA and the battey is rated for 500mAh guaranteed can I expect that battery still have enough life for reasonable...

Power Supply being loaded down. Why?

In resposne to itsmoked: Yes the PS does have a dial to adjust voltage, current and power limits. In my first post I did want to increase the current limit but I just wasn't sure how high was safe enough to cover the inrush without casuing damage to the rig. At my job someone more familiar...

Power Supply being loaded down. Why?

In response to waross and sreid, yes these devices do have an energiztion surge. My power supply may not be able to handle the initial surge. In that case is there some way to set it so it can handle the surge current? thanks for ur help by the way
