Thanks kenvlach.
Great starting point for me. Woods strike method sounds good. Removing the nickel anodes will not be a problem.
We can just put the anodes in when we need to run it.
Also I like the benefit of room temperature.
The first tank I think will be quite small. I am thinking...
Thanks Swall
Well... I will be the part time technician. And a small lab may be an option. We have a good plating supplier, but turn around time is very critical.
Also. It does not need to run every day. Probably once or twice a week. The rest of the time it can be running idle (if...
Hi there.
I work for a small machine building company. We have electroplating done from time time, mainly for anti rust and decorative reasons.
I would like to build a small plant for a bright finish. Either bright zinc or nickel.
It can either be electro or nonelectro.
What are the...
Appologies. I gave approximate dimensions for the hub first time round.
The hub looks like it is designed for flat root, but the shaft looks as it is a very deep fillet.
There is no chamfering on the external teeth. But then I also doubt that the shaft is of the original design.
It might...
Thanks all. Especially gearcutter. Gave you a star too!
Its not correct. But its about as close as I think I am going to get.
But here's a little more info anyway.
Country of origin. Italy. (not much help) :(
Shaft OD 46.2
ID 31.5
Hub OD 46.4
ID 39.65
Yes these are correct...
Hello all.
Appologies in advance, this seems too much of easy question, but its been giving me real trouble.
I received a spline with these approximate dimensions.
10 Splines
OD 46.2 mm
ID 39.5 mm
Looks like an involute spline.
I am not sure whether it is metric or imperial.
Does anyone know...
Yes 3 planets would be better for the gears. I considered that. But for this application having 4 planets or even more is better. Will go to 3 planets if necessary, but am going to try 4 first.
Damn this forum is great. Wish I had found it earlier. A lot of good people on here.
Thanks. That solves most issues. Only two remain.
1. Is involute the best gear choice? Any other suggestions?
2. If involute is the way to go then where can I find the file to get AutoCAD or Inventor to draw the involute. I have looked, all I find are dead links or want subscriptions...
Hello all
I am a bit new to this. Was wondering if you could help me.
This is my dilemma. I am looking to have some gear profiles laser cut. I know it sounds crazy. But thats what I want to try.
Therefore I need a very forgiving gear configuration. Very low tolerance values. This is...
