I thought the same, Lionel, but this method doesn't require any programming (often a good thing). IR is correct, though, this doesn't need two relays... the circuit is overly complicated for the intended purpose.

Parts per billion? You may have a tough time there... per million is readily found at all of the usual component shops.

Technically, this machine has no 'stop' button... certainly not an emergency stop. Not my field, but I would certainly question any machine of this size not having some form of mushroom stop clearly located and indicated.
