The bridge I'm working on is a butted P/S beam bridge and has no deck. I was intending on analyzing it as a pinned-head integral abutment by inserting a pin through the box beam into the pile cap. Is this the same as semi-integral?
Has anyone seen any design examples or studies in the design of semi-integral abutments?
I've seen plenty from Tennessee on integral abutments but have yet to really find any on semi-integral.
