Mode shapes in experimental modal analysis

hi Geoff, Glad to be of some help. But at this point I will have to bow out of the discussion. :-) I am new to this lab and we do use ME'scope. However, I am not trained on the software yet so cannot comment on that. My background is(was) with NASTRAN. Good luck! Ken

    Transmissibility of Wire rope isolator

Greg, Thanks for the reply! You have clued me in that I should be looking at it from a 'transfer function' perspective. Looking back on the digital data analysis course I attended last year...duh...the phase information needs to be preserved and be part of the calculation! Thanks for that as...

Mode shapes in experimental modal analysis

My two cents, The plots that you attached. Are they for a single axis? If so, then perhaps the mode dominates in another axis (then again, since it's cylindrical you probably performed the analysis in those coords rather than cartesian). Also, do you have the mass fractions/modal mass for each...

    Transmissibility of Wire rope isolator

hello, New to this great forum! So on to my question. I have accelerometer data (time-history) for a wire rope isolator I am trying to characterize. The setup was 2 accels mounted on either side of the isolator (input and output sides). To get a ratio of input to output, is it as simple as...
