In 2D drafting are you able to see the icon View From 3D?
this function will bring in the 3D annotations in an easy to read format and you can
develop your views and sections as intended.

ubengineer,
You should use Groups. It makes your job easier and allows to make multiple ones without worrying about what you selected.
check out this video.

he's referring to parts driven by an intelligent table or ones that fit certain criteria. To match what SolidWorks you need to use what they call in CATIA
Knowledge. It contains all the necessary tools. not as elegant as SWX but it still does the same thing.

I need access to assemblies, parts and 2D drawings. I don't really need to make changes to the native
data. I want to download the assembly and then introduce upgrades unique to our company. I'm fine with
STEP or IGS like data. I'm trying to make a case for getting the files as it's really...
Is anyone here a Bombardier Transport Supplier? We do the train maintenance here and need access to the CATIA files occasionally so that we
can make field modifications. Does anyone know where to start the process? What is involved in getting setup correctly?
Thank you,
Mark

That's the whole purpose of pasting as a result is that it will drop the intelligence. You should use paste "As specified in Part Document"
this will bring the history in.

I jsut thought of something else.
extract the outer boundary and then use the Fill command. it will be identical to the original wihtout the edges shown. I tried it on a none-planar object and it worked.

I've gotten good results from the Rough Offset tool in the past. Not sure if you have access to it under GSD.
I would create an offset (say 5mm). it takes away the shapes and edeges and then I would Rough offset it back to where it was originally.
hope that helps,
Mark
