I was defining a boundary condition rather than an initial condition.

I have built a model of a rigid projectile sphere (R3D4 elements), impacting 2 Titanium (Ti-6Al-4V) plates. I have used Johnson Cook to model the damage.
The job runs and solves fine and I think the result is reasonable.

Thanks for your reply Rob. I had modelled a quarter of the plate and applied X-symmetry and Y-symmetry boundary conditions. I am using continuum shells with SC8R elements.

Hi this is probably an easy one... can anyone tell me how to view the pre-processor printout in abaqus. I have selected 'print model definition data' in the 'General' Tab whilst creating my Job but don't know how to view the actual printout once the job is submitted.
