Hello all!
I am looking for a lock that is pneumatic.
I have an air supply and all applicable hosing. I would like to know if there is a lock - that works like a door lock in that you can close the door without turning the knob but have to turn the knob to open it.
I would like to know if...
Hello,
There is a flange on the inside of a lid. When you lower the lid the flange gets inserted into a cutout where a pneumatic cylinder is inserted to lock the lid down after the flange triggers a switch. When the test has finished (this is a test fixture) the cylinder retracts.
Sometimes...
Hello,
I am tryng to design a robust fastener with an exsisting pneumatic system.
Old system:
-flange gets inserted
-pneumatic cylinder is inserted into cutout in flange
(problem here is sometime you have to wiggle flange for the cylinder to get inserted)
-then the cylinder is retracted (but...
Hello Greg,
I know I may come across as bit unfocused now, but in the beginning I was only targeting industries where I had experience.
This resume that I have posted on about 15 different job boards was checked by someone and accepted as a good resume.
I have recently made a functional...
Hello All!
I just want to hear input form other engineers about job searching strategies and amount of time spent looking.
I started by focusing on the automotive industries and mining/oil industries because that is where my internship experience has been but recently have been "spamming"...
Hello,
Thanks for the input...I am an engineer who is trying to find more information on plastics since they were not a major topic of study during my undergrad...and Thermoplastic composites are a relatively new area of reasearch so I am having trouble finding info on the web....
I thought...
Hello all!
I am trying to find information on whether a thermoplastic composite, with perhaps a cabon additve, would be desirable over something like PVC for an ankel brace.
I know the carbon would make the material less dense, hence, less weight(without losing strength) but it would also make...
Hey guys,
I want to have a good text book lying around that keeps my skills sharp...machine element design, strenght and materiels, life time anaysis...or all of the above.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
-LTOP
Heh, Thanks for the info,
Actually I am writing report on the design of an ankle support using a thermoplastic composite. As far as the competition is concerned some use PVC because of it's strenght and flexibility.
Do you still think thermoforming or injection molding is the best bet...
Hello all,
I am trying to find the best way to mold an ankel support into its desired shape - I need to know what type of molding process is desired for this type of shape?
The shape is about 50-70cm wide by about 100-150 cm long, 5mm thick and is concave in shape (not sure about the radius of...
