RC column ties and u bars at free edges around new openings formed through existing rc walls
Hi! I have a question in regards to horizontal ties in an existing rc wall that is being partially demolished, effectively turning it into a column (b/d less than 4). I am concerned that the existing horizontal reinforcement is not sufficient to restrain the vertical bars from buckling...- Leng95
