Luxeal,
I need 2", 3", 4" & 6" 1500# RF Globe Valve, ASTM B 564 N08825 per ASME B16.34. The client piping specification for this service calls for valves as large as 24" in this material, so far, I have not been able to find a manufacturer who can supply a valve larger than 4" in B564 N08825...
My service is Hydrogen, Wet & Sour. The client's pipe specifications call for B564 (Forged) N08825 Valves, I have sizes up to 10" and 1500# class. Vendors tell me that they cannot supply to B564, they quote A494 (Cast) instead.
ASME B16.34 does not give a pressure rating for A494 N08825...
I am welding a 2" 300# Studding outlet (Normalized) on an existing vessel. The vessel shell material is SA 516-70 Normalized, 1.25" thick, but not PWHT as it is not in severe service. The Studding outlet wall is 2.25" thick and it is "Set on" with a 7/8" fillet weld on the inside and 1/2"...
BigInch,
I stand corrected, as a matter of fact, that hit me last night. I'm deeply involved in a project involving marine loading of base oils at a considerable range of viscosities and temperature. Apparently I have developed tunnel vision. Of course a centrifugal will work. I regret any...
Essentially yes, however nothing is 100% efficient. Positive Displacement (PD) pumps have slip. At higher viscosity, less slip but more head loss in the piping system. At low viscosity, less slippage, less head loss. Specify maximum capacity at minimum viscosity and specify required maximum...
dkm0038,
You stated: "I want to set up a system in which it is important to maintain a constant flow rate but with a varying total head."
To meet the above conditions, you need a positive displacement pump - not centrifugal. Calculate required horsepower based on stated flow at maximum head...
My inspector says they appear to be fatigue cracks but some extend into the HAZ. That's why I was concerned. There are four 90 Deg. areas, each baffle is welded to the tubesheet, the baffles stiffen each other so I couldn't see much chance of flexure.
A client has a filter vessel of Inconel 601 in HDPE manufacture operating at 5 psig & from 700 F to 1100 F. The filters are tubes screwed into a tubesheet and are separated into 4 groups by 5/16" thick internal baffles, the baffle is not stressed. The baffles are also Inconel 601 and are welded...
