    Unknow profile shift coefficient

Hi Lucia, first what makes you think there is a shift Coeficient, secondly why can't they be standard gears.

    Help About Identifying a Spline

As spigor says your report does not show enough information the Major Diameter and a pin measurement would help. I have run a couple of programs to give a guide to what it might be and my conclusion is that it is likely to be ANSI B9-1-1970 (revised 1993)Table 15 which is a flat root spline.

Help! New Engineer Need help identifying CV shaft spline standard

can you measure the major dia of the male spline and let me know if it measures between 1.042 / 1037 also could you take a measurement across seven teeth and let me know how close it is to .7583 / .7574. Your initial measurements are pointing towards a ANSI B92-1-1970 (revised 1993) Table 57...

single-enveloping worm gear meshed with a cylindrical worm - lead angles vs center distance

Are you running the new Gear with the original Worm and did your supplier have this worm when they made the new Gear, if he did then the change in the Centre distance would have no effect on the angle as this is controlled by the Worm PCD which would be 7.25".I agree with spigor that a change in...

    Gear Pinion outside diameter calculation

Although I slightly disagree with Occupant's results I totally agree with Occupant when he says "You should really know the helix angle of the gears, otherwise it is just guessing". If you stick with the angle being 10deg this would make the 40 & 25 tooth gears non standard with a correction...

    Changing Chain Drive Sprocket Ratio

hi it's always good to have a odd number of teeth in both sprockets (but cannot always be achieved) when ever possible to help give a uniformal distbution of wear, for that reason i would go with the 15:1 gearbox and a pair of sprockets with 15 and 23 teeth (one odd) which would maintain your ~23:1

    DIN 5480 spline Data

hi iaguy as CoryPad states you must have DIN 5480 no other standard will do.the info you require is as follows. Major Dia 40.0 / 40.52 Form Dia 39.67 Minor Dia 36.0 / 36.16 Base Dia 31.177 Max Actual 4.252 Min Actual 4.207 the above info is for a internal, which the 'N' and 'H' suggest, you...

    Determining Gear Parameters

hi makary there would be no adverse effects to the running of these gears you would infact get a better contact ratio.take note of dinjin's answer it gives a good understanding of profile shifting.running this set of gears at your centre's would give approx .005" backlash (.13mm)if they were cut...

    Determining Gear Parameters

hi if you take it that these gears are 22dp then your first gear (pinion) has a profile shift of .0454" (1.154mm), which would give a OD of .909"(23.1mm)and a PCD of .8182(20.78mm).The depth of your second gear would be shallow for 22dp by .006"(.15mm),if you take this to be so, then the OD...

    Spur Gear Cutting Formulae

hi multiply the following by your module: OD= teeth +2 PCD= teeth add = 1 basic tooth thickness= 1.5708 the depth of tooth depends on the standard you are working too,the common one is 2.25 cp= (3.141592*module)/ 25.4 ded= depth - add for a 41 tooth gear of .75 module the OD = 32.25mm, PCD=...

    What spline is this??

hi do you know its country of origin this could help identify if its Module or dp, its not a standard BS3550 spline nor a ANSI B92.1 as the depth is shallow by almost .100" to both of these. its the shallow depth thats bugging me it could be a none standard spline/gear, is there any other info...

    ANSI B92.1 Spline Drawing

hi Baheej i take it that you have given your supplier a drawing of the basic shaft but what he is requiring is the information to cut the spline. you can't give him just 15T 8/16 this is not enough info to work with, he needs to now the Table Number, table 10 is Flat root side fit, table 21 is...
