Compositepro: can you expand on that? We have done some investigation into using Liquid Nitrogen but are there any references that you can point me to which describe the best practices for this type of use?

Application: Approx. 40' X 16' X 16' Environmental chamber with less than 20T cooling capacity at -40C. Able to cool the room to -40 C or colder for static testing of (non heat generating) objects and materials. Now we want to run vehicles in this room and still maintain -40C throughout the...
Can anyone recommend the best way to chill a make up air supply of maximum 6000 cfm to as low as -40 C? Assume a max run time of the system to be 1-2 hours although the longer the better. If there are commercial systems available to do this please let me know what company(s) to contact...
OUCH! Seimi wants almost CAD$5000 for a linear wiper to fit my window. They recommended a pantograph style (see attached) but even that would be over CAD$1500! Really the only thing that makes this unique is that the wiper arm seems to be mounted the opposite way on the shaft. Most wiper...
All of the farm implement "rear windshield wipers" still have the motor mounted on the inside of the glass with the shaft through a hole in the glass to the outside wiper. Have yet to find a true externally mounted wiper motor system (except for the linear one that seimi in France apparently...
Hey amorrison,
Yah, I've been all over those boat motors. They still mount on the "inside" surface of the window with the shaft poking through the frame to the outside where the wiper connects - same as in any other type of installation. They're waterproof because of course the boats they're...
Thanks jmw. Will have to look at this more but at first glance it looks more complicated than we need.

jmw, not sure what you mean so could you please elaborate?
hacksaw: waterproof motor that I can bracket mount would be good. Needs to be durable so "cheap" would not be a requirement necessarily but not looking for any too ridiculously expensive.

Never did have any luck. I have resigned to just getting a regular wiper motor (possibly from Cleveland Ignition), packaging in as small an enclosure as I can find, and mounting that on the outside of my cab. The challenge is going to be to get the box mounted such that the wiper will contact...
I'm designing a new cab for a piece of construction equipment. I need to find a windshield wiper motor which can mount completely outside of the cab with no protrusions through the cab wall. I cannot find anything that has been specifically designed for this configuration. Every motor I have...
Is there an ASTM standard method for testing and rating the abrasion resistance of various hose/pipe materials? The closest I can find is ASTM D 5963 Standard Test Method for Rubber PropertyAbrasion Resistance (Rotary Drum Abrader). D5963 seems to apply to flat sheet samples that you can run a...
TVP,
That is a good link but alas I need Imperial sizes, not metric. Also my hubs have 90 deg. cones whereas as near as I can figure, the metric's are all 60 deg.
Thanks anyway,
Larry

Thanks evelrod but I'm not looking for where to buy them. As I tried to say, I need to design an adapter plate to go from 8 on 6-1/2" to 8 on 8" or 8 on 275 mm. My 8 on 6-1/2 axle has 5/8" diameter studs. For the adapted bolt circle I was going to use these wheel studs. I need to know that...
I am looking for more information on wheel bolts, the kind with the 90 degree taper under the head for bolting a rim onto a hub. I cannot find these in Machinery's Handbook. I did find one drawing from a supplier on the internet but I need to design the matching chamfer in a machined hub I'm...
I never did find the answer to my problem so if anyone has anything that can help I would appreciate some ideas. Also, I'm still using version 2007 so if they've added anything in 2008 or 2009 that could help me let me know that too.
Thanks,
Larry
