I have seen manufacturer supply dual certified material as A105/A 350LF2.
Similarly can casting be dual certify by mfg as A216Gr WCB/A352 Gr LCB????.
has any body came across such certified casting????
Brimstoner,
As the hardness reading below 12 mm thickness are not reliable by using EQUIOTIP portable hardness tester. I have proposed customer that we will put additional test piece of pipe in the PWHT cycle each time & will test it in test lab by conventional method. But customer came with...
I have to mfg a A 358 TP 316L CL1 welded pipe using SAW process. can anybody suggest a associated Flux & wire for SAW welding. solution anneling will be done on pipe at 1100 deg C.also ferrite Number is to be found out for weld metal.
pipe should pass impact at -196 deg C.
Size of pipe is 24"x...
I don't have copy of API 1104.does the procedure & welder qualification of API 1104 is similar to that of ASME sec IX.
or what extra i will need to do for qualify a PQR as per API 1104
I heard that as per API 1104 procedure qualification is allowed only on pipe samples & welder qualification is...
I have to weld a 10 mm thick A 182 F 316 material with A 350 LF2 material.
The compliance is required as per NACE MR 0175 & MR 0103.
Is PWHT required for this joint as per above two std?.
If customer has not specified any of the practises which are outlined in RP 0472, how the compliance can be...
I have checked hardness of equipment after PWHT with portable hardness tester(Equotip). The thickness of CS equipment(A106 Gr B/A105) was 9.53 mm & hardness of PM was 110-115 BHN.
I thought that tensile property of equipment may have dropped down to its min requirement so I simulate a test...

I have to weld a CS pipe A 106 GrB to transition fitting (IS grade).the material for transition fitting is unlisted in ASME code.
I have to develope a weld procedure for the same.
How i can do that? does ASME secIX allow that?
I have to fabricate a block spool piece using A350 LF2 as body & Flange material.Drawing specifies material & fabrication according to MR0103.Design code is ASME B 31.3& wall thickness is 8.56 mm.
To meet the HAZ hardness as per NACE MR0103, either i will have to do PWHT or chemestry control...
one of my project valve datasheet sheet specifies the valve body material as A182 Gr 316L & fastener as A320 GrL43(phosphated) & A194 L7.The min temp in datasheet is -29 deg C.
I have referred A320 which states L43 grade is for ferritic material, but here my body material is austenitic.
Can I...
