Thanks for the replies. Cowski, your clear explanation is perfect. I managed to get done what I intended (the splitstring() command expected a list, so I selected "list").
For the hose dimension I wasn't able to retrieve the information because the attribute is on a lower part level.
Thanks for your reply. I guess what you are suggesting is what I want, but I can't figure out exactly how. I read about the "ug_askcurrentworkpart()" function but I don't know how to split the string. In my case is the drawing a separate part with an assembly in it. The drawing contains the...
Hi,
I'm using NX 9 and I want to edit a part attribute in a note. To clarify what I mean I'll give an example:
In a note I want to use a part of a part name. The part (hose) is named "A1 B2" where "A1" and "B2" stand for the place where the hose needs to be connected. Now I would like to add...

A sweep of solid body is what I'm looking for (well atleast that would have made things easier). To bad this not available in NX. I'll try to find another solution then. Thanks for the suggestions.
Thanks for you input cowski. I tried the motion envelope, but it does not seem to do what I want to achieve. The result is a lightweight body wich is not exact (quality settings set to high). I would like a exact part file. Is their a way to do this?
I'm trying to create a volume file of a complex part. This volume file should contain the the part in its most extreme positions w.r.t. a specific point in the machine it is build in. In my case I would like to translate the basic shape on a circle and having all covered space included in my...
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm not that familiar with WAVE-linked copies so I didn't use that option. I followed cowski's suggestion (export to parasolid and import that file). This works perfectly.
Currently I'm working on a part which has become too large which makes NX very slow. The part is an edited copy of another part which has no issues. The eddited part is suposed a more simple version of the original part which I need for analysis. I did the following things:
1. Filling gaps and...
