    Smart mate problem

When doing that if the part is using a "revolve" it will ask to select a face or plane or esc to just insert the part. when drawn with an extrude everything works fine. Ken

    Smart mate problem

When Grab the revolve and drag it will attempt to auto-mate to the hole...thats when i get errors. If i grab the part and drag it in I would then have to go and insert the appropriate mates...too time consuming. What I noticed is anything useing a "revolve" will error. If the feature is an...

    Smart mate problem

Hey guys, I have a problem when trying to insert a part into an assembly via "smart mates". What I'm doing is try to insert a piece of hardware into a plate. The hardware part uses only 1 feature, revolve, and is built with a design table. What is happening is I "tile" the windows and drag...

    Mitered 90degree sheet metal elbow

Hey Joe, If you create a "tube" using the "revolved boss/base" (only revolving 359.5°)then create a sketch with your "miter". Use the "insert bends" command. Now it will unfold. Is this what your looking for? Ken

    Why is it?

Got it...What I did was delete all the inner surfaces then used the "thicken" command. at that point I could then insert bends and unfold. Thanks everyone. Ken

    Why is it?

I think it is coming in as surfaces. I do run the diagnostics with no avail. The only option there was to remove the surface (then I could "see inside" of the flanges) I'll try playing with the surface tools and see what happens. Thanks, Ken

    Why is it?

Hey Guys... Lets say I have a part that was imported .stp, igs what ever. The part imports with errors. If I go in and try to extrude off the offending flange(s)I receive an error that it does not intersect with the model, even though it is shown in a preview that it is cutting thru. I'm...

    IGES Wireframe to a solid...

Hi guys... I did some searching on the subject but no luck. What I have is an IGES file that imports as a wireframe 3d sketch. Is there a way to create a solid of this? The part is a plate with tons of features on it, holes, c'bores, c'sinks and pockets, so I'm trying not to redraw it from...

    Bend Relief missing...

Hey Guys, Have you noticed differnt flat patterns from auto unfold vs. manual. What I have is a panel (16 ga) with 1/2 radius flanges 2.00" tall all around. If I unfold it auto it will only give a square corner notch. If I do it manually, where you select the bends, it will return...

    deleted part from drawing

If you select "view only" when opening the drawing everything will appear even if the part and assembly files are missing. We have customers that will only send the .slddrw files...not knowing any better. Ken
