My Workplace is planning on investing in a LS-DYNA license and together with that, a dedicated computer that will run the computations.
What kind of processors/ram configurations are recommended for LS-DYNA computations?
Could someone point me in the right direction?
The origin and original planes are randomly placed. Its from scanned data.
Basically I want the line that is pointed to in the attached image to be horizontal when pressing "normal to" on the "middle plain".
I am having a problem with the plane orientation.
When hitting "normal to" on a plane, I find the sketch rotated, see image.
Is there a way to alter the plane orientation? Everytime I create a new plane, it is oriented in this rotated way which is a pain when sketching..
Is it possible to set the color of a part or material in the .key file? I don´t want to run a macro each time I open prepost to change the color of each part.
Yes EEnd I know, the quadro card i on the list but the specs for that card seems so much inferior to the radeon HD 5850.. 512mb vs 2gb. Also, the Dell Precision M6300 is two years old whereas the Packard Bell EasyNote LX86-JO-755NC is from this year..
Almost all of the cards in the lisst of...
Would I be better of with this
Dell Precision M6300 that has a 512mb Quadro FX1600M graphics card
or a Packard Bell EasyNote LX86-JO-755NC which has a 2gb
Mobility Radeon HD 5850 graphics card?
both at ~the same price..
I'm looking to buy a laptop to use for some "not so advanced" CAD modeling in Solid Works. I will be modeling parts for helmets so there will be some surface modeling and small assemblies.
I'm looking for the cheapest laptop with a ~17" screen that does the job.
Which would you recommend?
I've...
I have created a concave surface that I want to be ~1mm thick. Can I convert my surface into a solid? Or can I somehow create another, smaller surface (with the original surface as a template) so that they are separated 1mm apart?
Thx beachcomber, that works great when having 2 intersecting curves. Do you know if it's possible to add more intersecting curves to be able to define the shape of the surface more?
I tried your method out but as soon as I try to apply more than those two guide curves I get an error like:
"The...
Thanks for that jjengel.
I thought there would be a simple way to create surfaces like this but I guess you have to devide the whole thing into separate surfaces. This should be quite cumbersome when dealing with many guidelines.
I am looking to model the inside surface (in contact with the...
Since I couldn't export wireframes in the IGES format I just made a protrusion out of each sketch. Beachcomber, thanks for your efforts! If you want, could you take a look at the iges file I attach here and see if it is possible to make a surface out of that kind of geometry? An enclosed base...
