I heard Google is working on this thing where they plug in a probe in the back of your head and you learn everything in a few miuntes. Or maybe that was the "Matrix". j/k
Seriously, it just takes time and experience. I've been doing UG / NX for 20 years and still learning new things about the...
I'm using NX 7.5 and ever since deleting some assembly constraints in one model, now everytime I use them for positioning it shows up briefly and then disappears. No constraint list is created in the navigator. How do I turn this back on?
Thanks,
Steve
I'm currently working in NX3 and when switching between work part and displayed part my color selection preferences reset to default (white).
Is there a way to change the selection color so it applies globally to all my windows?
tryitagain,
I felt the same way when I started using NX8 after being in 5 for so long. It took some time getting used to the new icons and other functions, but now I like the improvements. Especially the sketcher. Never really used it much and now I'm a convert.
I would say to give your self...
lorenopi,
Why does it matter so much what the model structure shows a sub-assy for clamp fasteners? Doesn't your drawing control the clamp hardware build up anyway?
Your response to John seems rather rude BTW.
The only way I can think to do what you want is to export all the components together as a parasolid then import the whole "wad" back in and use that "group" to create a new component.
I would recommend this only to create a drawing cartoon and make a parts callout on the F/D or BOM.
Hi,
I'm currently doing some work in NX3 and would like to know a way to "turn off" the automatic creation of datums/datum axes when creating a sketch. I did a search but none of the topics addressed the question.
Thanks,
Steve
John,
Those are good tips on orienting views.
Thanks for posting.
On a related subject...Is there a link or other information with a Function key matrix that shows what the "F" keys do within NX?
Steve
Thanks John, I will contact GTAC. Are they by any chance located over in Cypress with you?
Also, are enhancement requests (once blessed) rolled into a big wad with the next release or is it something accomplished with a software patch?
In the meantime, F3 it is.

Any way we can get NX product development add a setting to toggle them off for a whole session in the next release? or keep them but have them pop up outside of the selection area by default? Because in my design POV, they are almost completely useless. I've tried dragging them out of the way...
Thanks John, I didn't know about the F3 key input. I'll keep that in mind. BTW, does the keystroke make them go away for just that instance? or for the entire time the component position function is active?
Also is there a setting I can toggle that will make them go away for an entire session...
