    Tension-Compression Behavior

I am using Abaqus/cae 6.7 right now. Strain energy potential is marlow. I do not have any stress vs. strain data for compression(from experiment), and I do not know the behavior of the material under compression. obviously, it is implemented in the model that way. Thanks for this valuable...

    Tension-Compression Behavior

what you are saying is totally right. Obviously, the change in response is caused by a difference in deformation mechanism btw tension and compression. Actually, I could understand it if it was from experiment. What I do not understand is how simulation generates this.

    Tension-Compression Behavior

It is a fluoropolymer. Red line is under tension Blue one is under compression In order to make it easy, I put compression into the first quarter of the coordinate system.http://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=56ad2fb5-c25f-4041-b66a-9fb66143a5ba&file=comp.JPG

    Logarithmic Strain output in ABAQUS

Depending on how much you compress, you can get such a result.

    Tension-Compression Behavior

Hi, I am trying to simulate a plastic with a hyperelastic model. Input: Uniaxial test data Output 1: stress-strain curve under tension Output 2: stress-strain curve under compression When I compare these two curves, I have different behavior. does anyone know what can be the cause of this...

    Symmetric boundary conditions

rb1957: Red-lined region. Over there, for instance, there is a X symmetry. I am wondering how I can write it in words?

    Symmetric boundary conditions

Hello I have a unit cell(cube 15*15*15mm). I have symmetrical b.conditions for this cell as can be seen from figure. I would like to write this boundary conditions into my report. But I am not sure how to write it. For that surface, I have XSYMM boundary conditions. I am wondering how if I can...

    Comparing two curves in excel

I would say that is an engineering approach, and it worked quite well. Thank you very much. I did it like this!

    Comparing two curves in excel

IRStuff: The problem is I do not know how to do it. That was why I was asking. Could you please tell me how to do it? It is really important for me. clindeman: I am entering Stress and Strain(experiment) data into simulation. I am taking simulation data. So comparison is something that you...

    Comparing two curves in excel

clindeman: Thanks for your answer, but what do you mean by saying same conditions? IRStuff: Thanks for your answer, Unfortunately it is not possible. Then I should also put the corresponding values MechEng2005: Thanks for your answer. I have a curve, I am attaching it again in 97 format. I...

    Comparing two curves in excel

Dear all, Could you please tell me how I can compare two curves in excel? I have a master curve from experiment data, I would like to compare this master curve with the one that I get from simulation?

Install Abaqus 6.8 in Vista Home Premium x64

Hi I think it is about your installation. Is there a perl.exe file in the pointed location? If not, you can try to reinstall it.

    hyperelastic material data in abaqus

Ok, I think I solved the problem. When I use Marlow Strain Energy Potential, I should put two zeros at the beginning of nominal strain-stress data. Now it looks fine. Also I changed the time step, made it only 1 seconds, and every 0.05 seconds I receive data. Thank you very much.

    hyperelastic material data in abaqus

I checked materials parameters and stability limit information. I can not choose a different material model since it is hyperelastic material. Regarding the strain energy potentials, I can only choose Marlow since I have only one test data. Abaqus documentation does not suggest to use other...

    hyperelastic material data in abaqus

williwang: I did not smooth the data. Do you mean changing the curve data since at one point stress starts to decrease while strain is still increasing so it does not work? Stupplebeen: Yes, that is the problem. Data is not appropriate since it has a decrease in stress. It is not increasing...
