Moment of Inertia for an "L" shape

For L shaped sections, check the properties in the u-u axis and v-v axis also. These are very critical than the Ixx and Iyy.

    Stress Tables for Rectangular Plates

you can refer to Reynolds handbook for the concrete design. There are few tables for calculating moments at variuos places due to concentrated loads.

    eccentric moments in trusses

In a plane truss, if the members' Centroidal gravity line are not coinciding in one point at a node, there will be eccentricity of forces and hence moments developed. How to distribute this local moment in the global truss. Can anybody give some suggestion?

    Composite Steel Beam Design

There are good books available for the design of composite beams. You can refer to steel designers manual. It is as per British standards. But the principles are same whether you follow ASCI or any other code. You can refer to the SCI ( Steel construction Institute -UK)for their publication Steel...

    ground vibrations

Hi ever one, I am thankful to all of you for yor valuable informations. I referred to the relevant British standards and following through that procedures for monitoring the building.

    ground vibrations

We like to assess some existing buildings for the effects of vibrations due to sheet pile driving. Is there any method, to measure the vibration near the building and check the design of the building like that of seismic loading.

Phisical meaning of equivalent von misses stress

I do accept this. Von Mises stresses are mulitplied with some safety factors and compared with yield strength of the material ( particularly for steel)

Torsional Moment in Reinf. Concrete Walls

The value of Mxy is generally considered in to design by wood armer equations. You can refer to this.

    sheet piling

We have to excavate about 12m below the ground level. The soil is sand. The water table is about 2m below the ground level. The client had purchased the sheet piles before the design was complete. As there are buildings and roads very close (approximately) 12m from the face of excavation,the...

design of wall element to STAAD output

This is a wall element which is subjected to vertical and lateral loads ( external). The STAAD output shows the Mx,My,MXY,Qx,Qy,Fx,Fy. I like to know how to design the element from this output. Thanks

design of wall element to STAAD output

I am analysing an RCC shear core wall ( Lift shaft)for vertical and lateral loads by STAAD. I like to know how to design the element for axial load, Bending moments, shear force in both directions ?
