Cool deal, thanks - this sounds familiar and makes sense. I went out and looked at the latest example of a motor that we have here that is wired like this - it's only running at around 48 Hz - so this may be an actual case of accidental miswiring or maybe just a bad calculation on how fast the...
We have a couple of examples at our company of European OEMs who purposely wire motors for the lower voltage (277) and yet run them at the higher voltage (480). I have talked with a European tech who once told me that there was some trick like this that they did to get more power out of a motor...
Okay thanks Rheinhardt, but won't you still lose - for lack of a better term - the "verbage" - for ex. Instead of "Auto On" you'll just have the default "STAT 0". That is, if you download the DB from the PLC, you lose that info, or maybe I'm wrong.
Thanks again
I guess I must have missed it in the documenation before, but there is some direction given there. I'm at a point now where I'm pretty sure I can resolve the conflicts:
DB: download online version of DB - unfortunately that wipes my verbage in the DB.
OB: update FB calls - again I believe that...
Unless I did something wrong, I didn't see any threads on this. Looking for info on resolving Time Stamp Conflicts in S7, such as the kind that cause FB calls in OB1 to show up in red text, and also the kind that prevent you from viewing a DB online.
Thanks
I still haven't found any Podcasts realting directly to Industrial Maintenance, but do have a link to a good Management Tools Podcast at http://www.manager-tools.com/.
I also have a few RSS feeds from Maintenance blogs at my page - http://www.welchnet.us/industrial/.

Bad Link -
The link on my signature was wrong. Should be http://home.triad.rr.com/wwwelch/electric.html
This is a page I've messed around with for a few years - some of the information might be a bit dated (I mostly use the links page as bookmarks).
Thanks

jraef,
Here's the HVAC link - http://libertyfeed.com/. Go there and look for "CoolTalk" on the left side frame. I don't think he actually does the show anymore - but there's a big archive - mostly residential HVAC.
The Tech feeds that I listen to regularly are "This Week in Tech"...
Is anyone aware of any podcasts that would be of interest to Electricians/Automation Technicians/Industrial Maintenance, etc.?
I've got a long ride to work and have plenty of time to listen . If anyone is interested, I have a few Tech podcasts that I've been listening to. I also have a link to...
Larryg,
According to NFPA 79, Electrical Standards for Industrial Machinery, the E-stop on a machine can be a category zero or one. A category zero immediately removes power to the "machine actuators", whereas a category zero brings the machine to a controlled stop and then removes the...
