    Thanks again, much appreciated!

    Centrifugal pump VSD question.

Thanks again, I agree, I need a discussion to further understand what the EE is actually after from me.

    Centrifugal pump VSD question.

Thanks for all the thoughts, it is appreciated.

    Centrifugal pump VSD question.

Thanks a lot, some good advice there, I think it's going to be constant torque and I get on with my life!

    Centrifugal pump VSD question.

Hi all, I am converting some centrifugsal pumps from fixed speed to variable speed using variable speed drives. The electrical engineer who is speccing the drives wishes to know if the drives are constant torque or constant power. My response is that a centrifugal pump is neither since both...

Supply pressure to a Plan 32?

Thanks, I thought 2 Barg above discharge pressure was a bit high, but thanks for confirming my thoughts. You mention seal box pressure, but as a Plan 32 feeds into the pump behind the impeller, I am basing my Plan 32 feed pressure on pump discharge pressure rather than packing box pressure...

Buffer Fluid for -215 F Process (Plan 52 Seal Arrangement)

No recommendation for fluid from me, sorry, but I suggest you look at using a canned motor pump?

Supply pressure to a Plan 32?

Complements of the season to you all! If you have an ASME B73.1 pump specified with a Plan 32 seal arrangement, how much above the pump discharge pressure does the Plan 32 water supply pressure typically need to be please? I have a figure of 2 Barg in my mind. Thank you.

What is meant by "4 x NEMA"?

Indeed, thank you a great deal. This is a great forum!

What is meant by "4 x NEMA"?

Thanks, the term I have heard used is when referring to a nozzle load on a pump or turbine. I can see the NEMA standard referenced above, I'll look it up. Thank you.

New pump with Plan 32 question?

Knapee, I'm talking about Plan 32, not 23! Thanks.

What is meant by "4 x NEMA"?

I have heard folks refer to something called "NEMA" when referring to nozzle loading due to wind or seismic events. What is this "NEMA" value that is referred to in "X" multiples? Thanks.

    Lined pump vendor?

Many thanks, I have inquiries out with Friatec and Wernert. Thanks again.

    Lined pump vendor?

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look at them now. I looked at Richter and it was not within their range as far as I could see. It seems 75m head is a bit on the high side for plastic pumps at that flow rate as far as I can see.

    Lined pump vendor?

Thanks for the interest. I am being advised by our materials guy that a non metallic construction is required on account of the wide variation in ph and chemical make up of the chemical effluent (lots of aggressive chlorides etc...) that we are going to be pumping to the site battery limits...
