unless I send the part of for further testing, the reading are the best our scanner can pick up. Everything points to a 4,XXX series alloy, but not my main question is what alloy works best for welding to this piece?
I have been tasked with modifying a cast aluminum part and I am trying to match metals as closely as I can. I need to machine a new part to weld onto this casted part. Our metal scanner gave me a read out of:
