I am reading of a new and almost miraculous method for the filtration of water with the use of hydroxite as part of a sand filter media. It comes 'equiped with retention tank and dula ionization and oxygen electrodes'. They are big on the Web with the name of Ecosmart.

I am consulting to a cherry processing plant for marchino cherries. They are sulfited to about 35 ppm as S03. The pH is at or near 3.5 They wish to market these and package them faster than the present rate of long exposure to deplete the sulfite. I am suggesting sparging the tanks with air...
I have a client that is asking me how he can design a fluoride removal system to reduce it from 10 ppm to 4 ppm. The flows, get this, are at 10,000 gpm.
Any ideas appreciated. Me? I would probably not even attempt it.

I have what appears to be over simple in answer, but it mayt be of some use and I would gladly share it. It is a Excel spsread sheet with inputs of pipe size and pressure that then provides the flows in fps for the various pipes of steel or copper. I use this mostly for calculating the flows...
