I just know that evap condenser is old technology. There is no hockey arena in my place but there is a lot of football field here... he he.
I think evaporative condenser chiller has more advantage than water chiller with separate cooling tower. Simply you no need to buy pump and cooling tower...
Hi,
does anybody has any experience with it?. I saw one in china refrig expo. it is said to have good kw / tonr. but instead of loosing water/day what other drawback of this chiller?. and why branded chiller such trane, york, carrier, etc not producing this kind of chiller?
If it is considered feedstock, are we able to import it as chiller refrigerant after 2030?. Because feedstock uses are not controlled under Montreal protocol. feedstock means chemical is used entirely for manufacturing of other chemical.

Hi,
I would like to know how big is R123 chiller selling in US? is there any reference about percentage of selling yearly in website?. And how does montreal protocol affect future selling for R123 chiller?.
Thank you for respond.
Actually I would like to know which chemical really damage galvanized pipe. and find a device to help reduce its volume so I dont have to pour any chemical.
Hi,
I have installed galvanize (medium type) pipe in office building. Within 3 months most part of pipe leaking. I cut them apart, found lots of sediment and corrosive cavity inside pipe. Finally, I get water sample and analyze it with result:
- Mg : 14.1 miligram / liter
- Ca : 47.3 miligram...
I guess I am missing the main point here: montreal concerns about ozone and kyoto about green house effect. Refrigerant phase out listed on Montreal while kyoto mainly talking about efficiency to reduce greenhouse gass. Thanks Tombmech.
Thanks for the reply ChrisConley and MintJulep. I found it on epa.gov and duppont web page also. But all of them are based on Montreal protocol. Kyoto protocol might not as strong as montreal... since the protocol arent rectified by numbers of county including US as well. Thanks...
Thanks again Tombmech,
No need to be sorry for, it is interesting subject to be discuss. I havent heard such a system using water storage here before (in my 2 years of hvac experience). The closest thing my company had done was installing water tank mixing normal water and chill water in order...
Thanks for the post...
I thought the same as Latexman at first, but such experiment yield different result while room temperature change.
Tombmech, chilled water storage never cross my mind.... Does this technology could be applied on any chiller or only specific chiller can do?
Well, the idea is to learn how efficient chiller is with ice thermal storage. I would like to know (if possible) formula from strach. I hear a rumor saying ice thermal storage is efficient in concept but not in reality even ice is made during off peak hour.
Hi,
I would like to know how much time is gonna take to melt 1 ton of ice in different kind of outside temperature. Is there any formula/reference/table I could learn from?. Assuming under normal pressuree ( 1 atm ) and no other heat source. Thank you.
Thank you guys for all the comment.
Yes, previous centrif mcquay had a sound pitch as loud as jet engine. But new design implementing 'liquid injecton' method in order to reduce pitchy sound. The compressor discharge area is injected with liquid (refrigerant) droplet from condenser. The idea...
