I have had the same problem with a couple of jobs that have a lot of slots or cut outs close together. I ended up having to cut up the slugs in those to get the parts to come out decent. It takes a little longer but at least the parts are good then, and you don't have to go grind tabs out.

I've heard of the copper slats before, I'm sure it would be expensive to get them made, Do they last long enough to make it cost effective?
How bad is the mark on stainless and aluminum parts? We do quite a bit of that material, and a lot of it is cosmetic, so we can't...
Did you get the different design of your slats from Mits, or did you come up with it yourself?? Would you be willing to share what they look like?
We clean ours off every couple of weeks too, but I've had slugs stick even right after we clean them.
We have the same machine you do. When you are running light out do you have any problems with slug build up? We have tried it before, but slugs build up, then the sheet doesn't sit flat, parts tip up causing big problems! Any suggestions?
