Thanks Matt. For some reason "Windows Search" is not in that list on my computer...nor is it in add/remove programs. So weird. Thanks though! James

Actually, I cant find "desktop search" in the add/remove programs window either!! Can you help? I have XP Thanks!

Matt, Try the registry fix. It did NOT work for me but takes only a minute to try out. It worked for a few minutes for me (I got really excited) and then the issue started again.... the file button freezes the whole system. Please see what you can find from you VAR and pleasse get back to...
