    Locking in poroelasticity

I am going to construct a tet element for my model. Let you know if it works well. Jay

    Fortran Standard for writing subroutines

Hi lanavi017, How do you make them work together? Thanks a lot for sharing! Jay

    Locking in poroelasticity

What element type do you use ? I used to use CPE4. Which did you choose ?

    Locking in poroelasticity

Hi Andre, I encounter the same problem before. That's some kind of numerical oscillation problem. The problem could be your mesh size irregularity. So do finer the mesh and test. Jay stungj@gmail.com

    Fortran Standard for writing subroutines

Dear all, I am interested in the coding standard of writing a subroutine as well. Thanks. Jay

Very large deformation - Poor Mesh Ratio - Remeshing Script

Did you check the output geometry? There should be some subroutines to remesh.

    Pre-process of modelling

Greg, Thanks a lot. I will try the function of coincident nodes in abaqus. Cheers, Jay

    Meshing

MNS747 I have the same problem of extract the nodes. How do you make it ? Thanks

    Pre-process of modelling

Thanks. In order to do elastic dislocation constraint, I need a pair of node on each contacting location. Those two nodes in each pair are of same position but with different movement so that a slip is simulated. I have have written a small c++ script to pick each pair but I wonder if there...

    Pre-process of modelling

After setting up the model in CAE, involving drawing geometry and assigning material, is there any subroutine for me to extract the location of some designated nodes ? We need to add some constraints in those nodes. The extract nodes are those contacting nodes of two instances. Thanks

How does the TIE interpolation works?

I think "Tie function" is to share the same displacement amongst points. The unrealistic stress field may be attributed to the mesh size and your boundary conditions.

Drawing 3D geometry in Abaqus CAE/Command

Thanks Rob. If I want to do some iterations like 1. draw a geometric object in solidwork 2. import to abaqus and mesh 3. export the the deformed geometric object 4. can i automatically mesh the deformed object again in abaqus ? 5. deform it.. 6...repeat step 4 and 5 or i need some other...

    XYDataFromPath

There is problem if the nodes are very dense or your path is not that straight. 1001 or <1000 could be resulted from some mistakenly selected nodes. So you should select them carefully or you find another logical ways to isolate them out, like making them to be a boundary of a section.

Drawing 3D geometry in Abaqus CAE/Command

Thanks Timusop. Could I design the mesh with the CAD package ? I also heard about Rhino for model design. Is it good ? Many thanks, Jay

Drawing 3D geometry in Abaqus CAE/Command

Dear All, I am going to draw a 3-D model to be run in Abaqus. I would like to know how I can do that. I find it is a little bit cumplicated to design the 3-D structure with certain curvatures in CAE. Could anyone tell any assisting softwares or approaches of designing the 3-D geometry in a...
