Thanks Hora & Heckler for the tip. I am stuck with an old Dell machine+old graphics card for a while now.
On the same note,I have read some heated discussions on ATI Radeon cards Vs other cards (the FireGL and the nVidia & wildcat). Seems lots of users face problems with Radeon cards...
Haha.. Should I thank God that my generation has these wonderful tools to work without having to walk through 20 A0 size sheets or should I rue that my engg. acumen is being dulled because some of the 'thinking' part is being done by these tools (same way as MS word Spellcheck has stopped us...
This is an intersting discussion. IF tomorrow, the big boys in the engineering field decide to do away with drawings so to say, the suppliers have to join the bandwagon as well.
I am curious as to how people manufactured things 15-20 years back when CAD was a fancy item per say.It really...
Thanks Hora!
I changed the graphics settings and boom! The model is being displaced properly.
Thank you for your kind help and one vote for you :)

Hi ewh,
Thanks for the concise summary- I heard more about this in a recently concluded Pro/e users meet and it seems ptc has implemented some of this new std in wf 2.0.But as you rightly said, all users incl shop floor personnel would need to run the same s/w until a common ground is found...
Hi all,
I keep hearing about the new ANSI Y GD&T standards through which we can (fully)dimension the CAD 3D model itself without actually having a drawing for that model [I may be wrong!]. Could someone throw more light on this and tell me in brief how this new GD & T std. is different/an...
Hi Hora,
I use a ATI FireGL card (though memory is less- 64MB).
The issue is happening in both wireframe & full rendering display. As you suggested, let me have a look at the interference too.
Thanks for your time,
Jaya
Hello Hora,
I am not sure if this a graphics issue since even in the drawing that I have created using this asm , the cables are being shown skinner. The asm from which I copied these other asms however, shows the cables correctly.
Thanks!
Jaya
Hi all,
I had posted this Q on Pro/users but didn't get a satisfactory reply- So here it goes.
I use Pro/cabling (Pro/E 2001) to show how how wires are routed in a ballast (for visualization only). I have a ballast asm which I copy and then reroute/delete/add wires as I need to create different...
Hi Thomas,
Right now we don't have any approved vendors and this is a New product in development. I was thinking of posting the part into Quickparts.com or other Rapid molding sources but I would need to get permissions from dept. heads to do that..hence I was wondering if there was some kind of...
Hi all,
I have a plastic part for which I need to estimate approximate cost/part. I have a choice of 3-4 materials (PC,ABS,PC+ABS blend,Glass filled PP).
Could anyone point me to a source where I can get some means of estimating how much the part would cost for each of these materials...
Hi All,
I just started using pro/cabling (2-3 days back!!) and could route few wires using Datum points.
The problem I am facing is that I have terminated the wire at an un-intended place and if I move the point to the required position, the wire sags. My Questions are-
1) How do we 'extend'...
Hi Ben,
I would need to show them in exploded assembly indicating the locations. I also need to create a detailed drawing for this part (although it is a std. part!), hence the need to model this as accurately as possible.
Basically this washer is being used to provide ground contact between...
Hi All,
I am not very conversant with Pro/Sheetmetal module and I need to model a #10 external 12-tooth star washer [0.405" OD, 0.022" thick, 410 Stainless steel]. We are using WestCoast Lockwasher company's product.
The problem lies in the fact that the teeth/lobes are bent in both directions...
