    Lithium bromide, water spray type. It is a common belief that in these chillers the chilled water will not drop below 4 degrees.( See the answers to this question in HVAC/R forum.) But if so, why there are freeze protecting controls on these machines?

    SAK9, I think the same way.But if so,why there are freeze protecting controls on some (lithium bromide+ water) models? By the way I've heard of cases of freezing in these chillers.

    What is the reason for water to freeze in evaporator in an absorption chiller where the pressure is higher than 4.6 mm.Hg .I think this must not occur even if the chilled water pump is off because the saturation temperature in this pressure is higher than 0 degree centigrade.

    Saturation temp. in a pressure higher than 4.6 mm.Hg is higher than 0 degree centigrade. The enviorment temp. is considered to be high enough.
