    CATIA V5 ASSEMBLY DESIGN CONSTRAINS

There are a few tools in the Analyze menu to help better understand how the assembly is constrained. I know some users prefer to Fix parts (after they are moved into position) instead of using constraints. They don't have constraint errors, but they have to manually reposition the parts if...

    CATIA SKETCH GRAPHICS

CATIA makes sketches black when you add color to a part instance in an assembly. To reset the sketch back to normal colors, just remove the color from the instance in the assembly.

    DRAWING PROJECTION ANGLE CHANGING

You can change the projection type in Properties, but it won't modify your drawing. Any new views you create will be 1st Angle, and the current views will remain 3rd Angle. You're best move is to re-position the current views; move the left view to the right, top view to the bottom, etc...

    Shared licenses

First of all, you should talk to your manager and explain the situation and why you're unable to do your work. If the manager isn't able to resolve this, then go to IT and have them cancel your co-workers CATIA session which should free up the license.

    0-80 thread on a ..450 pitch diameter?

I'm designing two thin-walled parts that are to be threaded together. I don't have enough wall thickness for standard thread, so I'd like to use a 0-80 UNF thread profile on a Ø.450 pitch diameter. I've been able to 3D model the external and internal threads, but how do I specify such a thread...

DRAFTING - DIMENSION LINE AND GD&T

I don't know of a way to limit the dimension line, but here's what I do instead: Go to the properties for the dimension to Add Text below the value. just type in a space to leave it blank, and it should trim back the dimension line as if there is text there.

    Draft in GSD

I'm not familiar with those licenses, but if you have Part Design workbench, you could do it as a solid. And then extract the surface (if you really need a surface)

    Catia V5 Kinematics

I believe this will require two Kinematic mechanisms: 1 mechanism when not in contact (no blue piston), and another mechanism when the blue piston is in contact. Then you will need to set up some timing to drive the first one, and then drive the second. You're really trying to do something...

CATIA V5 Drafting view scaling without affecting annotations.

I don't know of any way to prevent it if you're changing the Sheet scale. You could move the lines and test in the table to a new view, and then reset the view scale to 1/1. Or you can just Scale/Transform the lines and text. Of course, if you had used a CATIA Table, you wouldn't have this...

    Tolerances on Model Generated Dimensions

That's strange! Does this happen to all dimensions? all drawings? all users? Which drafting standard are you using? which dimension style?
