I am going to build a turbo manifold from butt weld fittings (1 1/2" NB SCHD 10)
I can get 321 fittings in normal or high carbon (which the specs say is for greater strength). However 304L is recommended over 304 for lower temperature applications where the low carbon content is benifical.

Interesting Artsi that you quote Fredrik Westin as I have spoken to him (I judged his car at Formula student and a year later he was in my judging team)about twin turbos. He said that 2 small turbos were the way to go for general all round use. He was talking about having one turbo on 2 ports...

In brief....What is important is the volume of the silencer and if it acts as an expansion chamber. If this is the case, near the engine can have benefits. If you have an expansion...
Hello,
I am new to FEA and I am using a package ( http://cuylaerts.net/ ) to analyse a spaceframe chassis I built ( Morris Minor www.beardmorebros.co.uk )
I require some help with the cross sectional details of the material.
The program asks for the following:- (I am using the metric units)...
I have built a one off exhaust system and the sections of pipe and manifold are joined with bolt together flanges.
I would like suggestions as to how to seal these flanges. My thoughts are for a silicon sealer, gasket sealer or a gasket material.

I am trying to source TK7 fuel additive here in the UK. All my websearchs and communication with the manufactures have come to nothing. Emails are returned, address unknown.
Does anybody know if TK7 is still available and being manufactured?
Thank you,
John
Does anybody know if this magazine is still going? Their website is not available.
Does anybody have any articles from the magazine, specifically the one by David Vizard on TK7 fuel additive?
Thanks
John
My car is short wheel base and will be used on tight twisty courses so I require a good turn in. I understand that an open diff will give better turn in than a partially locked or locked diff. This therefore points towards a torque biasing diff or a plate diff with 85 degree ramps on the coast...
The Jack Knight is a cam and pawl which seems to be a very good diff, but it wears quite quickly and therefore requires rebuilds. I help run a hill climb / sprint Mini here in the UK and we use a Jack Knight cam and pawl but it probably only runs for about 1 hour a year. It replaces a Quaiffe...
The Quaiffe seems perfect except for one aspect and that is if one wheel is in the air or totally looses traction then all the drive goes to that wheel, not ideal.
How did you find the Detroit locker? Carroll Smith in Drive To Win does not rate them.

I require advice on selecting a limited slip diff for my car.
The vehicle will be used as tarmac rally car, hill climb (twisty, bumpy, tarmac) and on the road in all weather conditions. I wish to fit the unit and forget it. It must be low maintenance and reliable.
The differential unit I am...
I have a lot of intricate steel parts which I wish to plate and powder coat, but they have a light coating of rust.
In the past I have sand blasted, but recently I have seen advertised powders that are disolved in water and you immerse the steel parts and it cleans the rust off.
